CHICAGO–The Chicago Cubs won their first World Championship pennant on Saturday night (Oct 22) and will continue to advance in the series farther than they have ever gone in seven decades.

The Cubs, who have not won a pennant since 1945, swept their opponent Los Angeles Dodgers in 5-0 scoring on home turf Wrigley Field.

Although the Cubs have four more teams to play during the World Series, the team as well as their fans are ecstatic for the advancement.
