LEXINGTON, K.Y (SS)–Three Kentucky men were brought in arraignment on Monday for the killing of Trinity Gray, the 15-year-old daughter of United States Olympian Tyson Gay from early morning shooting.
Dvonte Middlebrooks, 21, along with father and son Chazerae M. Taylor, 38 and D’Markeo C. Taylor. 19 have all pleaded not guilty to wanton endangerment. Middlebrooks’ was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The incident occurred 4am on Sunday morning on Oct. 16 in a Cookout restaurant parkinglot. Authorities have confirmed gunfire was exchanged between two cars leaving Trinity Gay with a gunshot wound in the neck. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The father of the victim, Tyson Gay, is a three-time United States Olympian and native of Lexington spoke early in bewilderment to the local station, WLEX.
“I’m so confused,” Gay stated. ” I have no idea what happened”.
