WASHINGTON D.C.–The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) set the legal ban to prohibit Samsung Galaxy Note 7 cell phones from being carried by passengers on airplanes and to fine offenders.

The announcement of the Oct. 14th ban ensued after users reported the Samsung device catching fire and exploding.

According to the FAA, passengers will no longer be allowed to carry their device on their person or any bags used during the flight. Passengers who fail to comply will be expected to pay up to $180,000 in fines.
