VIRGINIA (SS)—Virginia residents will no longer be able to register as new voters or update registrar information in the state after this years deadline today, October 17.

Voting registrations may be obtained through online applications, visiting the local Voter registration office, government offices with state programs, armed services recruitment offices, public libraries, Voter Department of Elections office, Department of Motor Vehicles, and any voter registration drives in the community.

Requirements in becoming a voter in the state of Virginia include being a resident of the state, being a U.S. Citizen, not be registered in any other state, 18 years of age, and not declared mentally incompetent for voting.
Without registrations prior to today’s deadline, voters will not be able to participate in any Primary or General elections.
